Support

Need a hand with MyPets? We're happy to help.

Email us

Tell us what happened and, if you can, include your iPhone model, iOS version and a screenshot. We read every message and reply as soon as we can. Please don't send passwords or payment details.

MyPets is a record-keeping tool, not a veterinary service. If you're worried about an animal's health, contact your vet. Out of hours, tap Emergency vets near me on the Help tab in the app.

Common questions

Subscription and purchases

How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?

Sign in to MyPets with the same account, then go to Settings → Membership → Restore purchases. Make sure your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account you used to subscribe.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you cancel them with Apple: open your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, choose MyPets and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also get there from Settings → Membership → Manage subscription in MyPets.

To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before it starts. MyPets Plus stays on until the end of the time you've paid for, and afterwards you can still view and export all your records.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles payments and refunds. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings → Export my data and tap Export all my data. You'll get one file with every pet (including archived ones), entries, reminders, medications and vet contacts, which you can save to Files or share.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Delete account. This deletes your account and all your data from our servers and from your phone, and it can't be undone, so export your data first if you want a copy.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions as well.

I deleted an entry by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes, for 30 days. Go to Settings → Recently deleted and tap Restore.

Are my records backed up? What about photos?

Your pets, entries and reminders are backed up to your account. Settings → Backup shows whether everything is backed up. Photos are kept only on the phone where you added them and aren't part of the backup yet.

Notifications

My reminders aren't showing as notifications
  1. Open your iPhone's Settings → Notifications → MyPets and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
  2. Check that a Focus (such as Sleep or Do Not Disturb) isn't silencing MyPets.
  3. In MyPets, open Settings → Notifications. Check that Pause all reminders is off, and that Notify me is on for the reminders you want alerts for.
  4. Tap Send a test notification on the same screen, then lock your phone. It should arrive in about 5 seconds.

Your reminders always appear on the Home screen in MyPets, even when notifications are off.

Language

How do I change the language?

MyPets follows your iPhone's language. It's available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Turkish.

To use a different language just for MyPets, open your iPhone's Settings → Apps → MyPets → Language (on older versions of iOS, Settings → MyPets → Language). If you don't see Language there, first add the language you want in Settings → General → Language & Region.

Care guides

Which animals have care guides?

Open the Help tab and tap Care guides, or open a pet and choose Care guide. There are guides for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, small rodents (hamsters, gerbils, mice and rats), ferrets, hedgehogs, horses and ponies, birds, chickens and ducks, fish, snakes, lizards, tortoises and terrapins, amphibians and invertebrates, plus guides for many individual species such as leopard geckos, royal pythons, budgies and axolotls.

The guides are general guidance written from reputable sources, not veterinary advice. They're in English only for now.

How do I ask for a guide for my animal?

Open your pet and choose Care guide. If we don't have one yet, tap Let us know you'd like this guide and we'll note it. If your animal is listed but the guide doesn't show, check its type in the pet's profile. You can also email us.

Signing in

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap Forgot password?. We'll email you a link to choose a new one. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes. If you use Sign in with Apple, you don't need a MyPets password.
